The Village of Ashcroft is very proud of the wide variety of recreational facilities that we are able to provide to our residents and surrounding area. During the summer months, our maintenance crew is increased by two summer students who are tasked with maintaining our parks and by a staff of six who operate the programs at our swimming pool.
During the long warm weather, we have an extensive network of walking trails that range from the very easy to more challenging.
Our Heritage Place Park is located on Railway Avenue and provides a "walk through time" in Ashcroft's history. There are also areas that pay tribute to our Japanese Sister City, Bifuka, as well as our connection to the mining industry with a large haul truck from Bethlehem Copper.
The Village operates Legacy Park which is located on the banks of the Thompson River. This campground provides electrical and water connections for 15 sites as well as areas for tenting. A washroom and shower facility is also provided at this facility.
We have an extensive soccer field complex, ball diamonds and a skateboard park. From the May long weekend until Labour Day our outdoor swimming pool provides a wonderful and refreshing oasis. The program contains formal swimming lessons as well as times set aside for family and adult swims. The Village has installed a small photovoltaic system on the roof of the swimming pool building and it is providing valuable data regarding energy production. To view this system click here

During the winter (October until March), the Village operates Drylands Arena, an indoor skating rink, that has public skating times as well as scheduled minor and adult hockey league play. We also host tournaments for organizations from outside our community.
In addition to these municipally owned facilities, tennis courts are available at the Ashcroft Secondary School and are available for public use. Semlin Valley Golf Course
is located just east of Cache Creek, a quick 20 minute drive for a scenic 9 holes of play. The Ashcroft & District Rodeo Association maintains rodeo grounds within our community and they host an annual professional rodeo the 3rd weekend of June. It offers lots of excitement and the weekend includes a parade, pancake breakfasts and dance. The Ashcroft and District Curling Club operate a four sheet curling rink that is adjacent to the Drylands Arena. League curling is available from October until March.
